The partnership between GPH and ENAPOR aims to develop the terminal, ensuring that it operates to global standards.
The partnership between GPH and ENAPOR (Empresa Nacional de Administração dos Portos de Cabo Verde) aims to develop the terminal, ensuring that it operates to global standards. Initially, GPH will provide consultancy and operational support for a period of three and a half years, with the possibility of an extension for a further two years.
In addition, the collaboration will include the development of the Cruise Destination Development Program, promoting Cape Verde through marketing campaigns, training and sustainable tourism practices aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
"We are excited about this transformative collaboration with ENAPOR," said Mehmet Kutman, president and CEO of GPH. "Our expertise in cruise terminal operations and sustainable development is aligned with Cape Verde's vision to strengthen its position in the global cruise industry."
The terminal's strategic location on the northwest coast of Africa will strengthen regional connectivity with GPH's ports in the Canary Islands. The partnership aims to increase passenger traffic, boost economic growth and strengthen tourism in the archipelago.
Ireneu Camacho, president of ENAPOR, highlighted the importance of the agreement: "This partnership represents a major step forward in the development and management of the Mindelo Cruise Port. We believe that this collaboration will bring mutual benefits, improving the terminal's infrastructure and services, contributing to the continued growth of the cruise sector in Cape Verde."
